Jaws Newsletter 2:16
12 Feb by Jill Schlenker
Hey Jaws,
Well we are here it is officially the championship week for the 10 & under athletes as their state meet is in Grand Forks this weekend. Good Luck to Harper and Austin with their swims.
This also means it is officially the last week of little fins. We would like to thank all our little fins swimmers and we are so excited to watch them keep swimming. We gladly invite them to come back during the summer season and swim with us again. Information about our summer season will be coming out in late April / Early May.
This also means that practice for athletes, starting next week, in the White and Red group that are 10 years old or younger is optional as our primary focus will be on the 11 & older athletes to get them ready/qualified for their state meet in March. Starting next week their workouts will primarily be just workouts with the primary stroke corrections attention being given to the 11 & older athletes.
Unfortunately I was unable to secure officials for our Last Chance meet, therefore we will not be able to host that meet. There are a few of you that still have volunteer hours due. We have a couple options available for those without having to pay the full $200 for the volunteer hours. I will send a email to those families soon with that information.
We will have a few more options for swim meets soon, once I can locate those meets I will make them available. Please note that these meets sometimes have opportunities for 10 & under athletes to swim, I will make special note on those if you would like to attend those. Your times are good for 2 years for qualifying so if you make a state time in one of those races you are qualified in that age group for the next state meet as long as you are still in that age group by the start of that meet.
Thank you all again for your time. Have a great week
Go Jaws!
